Donny van de Beek insists Real Madrid have not made any official approach for him.
After having given the red light in their pursuit of Manchester United star Paul Pogba last summer, Real Madrid appeared to have turned their attention to Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Donny van de Beek was instrumental in Ajax’s run up to the semi-final of the Champions League last season. He also helped Ajax secured their 25th Eredivisie title.
With 11 direct goal contributions in 17 games, the 22-year is still going strong and remains to be a key player for his side.
According to reports, Real Madrid are closing in on the Dutch midfielder and that he is set to join the club in January. But, as per Goal, Van de Beek has denied any such claims saying that nothing has been made official yet.
“Nothing is official [with Real Madrid],” he declared when asked about his switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“There is no contract. That is the situation. That has not changed throughout the season.
“I don’t want to choose. Both are great clubs, but as I said before, Ajax is also a great club. Therefore, there is nothing to choose from. Everything would be very good.”
