Robin van Persie has urged his former club to sign PSG’s want-away striker Edinson Cavani in the summer.
Cavani was linked to United in the winter window but the Red Devils later turned their attention to Odion Ighalo.
Despite Cavani seemingly having his heart set on linking a move to Spain, Van Persie has urged United to try and hijack the move.
In a Twitter Q and A with his followers, the Dutchman was asked who he thinks his former club should sign in the summer and replied:
“Edinson Cavani, brilliant player and available #GoalMachine”
United could begin negotiations to bring Cavani to Old Trafford now, with the 32-year-old’s current contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Cavani has only seen 380 minutes of league action and is desperate for game time.
