VAR sparks controversy once again as Sheffield United salvages a point against Tottenham

Tottenham hosted Sheffield United in yet another uninspiring performance by Pochettino’s men who can count themselves lucky to get away with a point.

The first half of the match saw both teams threaten the opposition goalkeepers.

However, after the match went into half-time with 0-0 a lot was expected from the second half.

Son opened the scoring, making use of Sheffield United’s defensive mistake.

David McGoldrick struck back just a few minutes – only to be denied by VAR. The decision was more than suspicious with milimetres deciding the outcome.

The guests, did, however, score once again – and this time it was allowed. Eric Dier slightly changed the path of Baldock’s cross to make it 1-1.

Pochettino tried everything to score, but Henderson held on to a big point for Sheffield United.

This result means that Sheffield remain at fifth, while Spurs struggle at 12th in the Premier League table.
