Lucas Vazquez replaced Gareth Bale late in the match and quickly made an impression on the scoreline as Real Madrid registered a comfortable victory against Osasuna in their latest La Liga outing.

Last night’s victory meant Zinedine Zidane‘s could relax without being concerned about the then-impending results from Barcelona’s matchup against Real Betis.

As of now, Real Madrid lead the title race with a three-point advantage over Barcelona.

And Lucas Vazquez suggests their performance against Osasuna was a statement of their learning experience from past mistakes while insisting that it was a much-needed win to lift the team’s spirit after their exit from the Copa del Rey earlier.

When asked if the titles are won on grounds like El Sadar, as Marca reports, he replied:

“Yes, but it’s also won at the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu, the Camp Nou… everywhere. It’s about consistency.

“In other years, we struggled to win at these types of grounds and that’s where we threw away the league [title in the past]. We’re doing very well and we’re going to be there until the end.

“I think the team has left a good impression. It’s really important in a difficult week. Winning in the way that we did says a lot about us.”
