Inter star Matias Vecino has named Marcelo Brozovic as the best player in the Nerazzurri squad, while also revealing his close friendship with Borja Valero.
Inter star Matias Vecino has named Marcelo Brozovic as his pick for the foremost player in the club’s ranks.
The 28-year-old has featured 18 times for the Nerazzurri this season, with his game-time threatened by the arrival of Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella last summer.
The Inter squad boasts a lot of star players in their ranks and they are easily the best team (on paper) after Juventus in the Serie A.
Despite a squad that boasts the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez (on loan), Vecino still believes midfielder Brozovic is the pick of the Nerazzurri stars.
“Marcelo is, for me, the best player we have in the squad,” he said in a Q and A as quoted by Football-Italia. “From the outside, you might get an image that is different from the reality. Marcelo is a special guy.”
Brozovic has been one of the constants at Inter under Antonio Conte this season, with the Croatian often hailed as a complete midfielder.
Vecino also revealed his close friendship with teammate Borja Valero, joking he has carried the 35-year-old everywhere with him since he moved to Italy.
“Since I came to Italy, I carry him with me,” he joked. “We played together at Fiorentina and then here.
“He’s the teammate whom I shared most moments with. He lives close by and we also share a room together.”
