Juan Sebastian Veron has confirmed that Estudiantes are in talks for the possible signing of Andres Iniesta.
The Spanish World Cup winner and Barcelona legend is considering leaving Vissel Kobe of Japan after only one season.
His rumored destination is Argentina.
Former Manchester United player and now Estudiantes president Veron is leading the charge.
Speaking to ESPN, he admits while there have been no official negotiations, talks have begun.
“Today we cannot say that there is a negotiation, but there are conversations.”
Estudiantes already have a Barcelona connection.
With Iniesta’s one-time teammate Javier Mascherano already at the club, as is Barca’s former defender Gabriel Milito as the coach.
He has demonstrated that even at the age of 35 he is still able to deliver the goods.
