Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is a good friend of James Rodriguez and is annoyed with his falling out with Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid usurped Barcelona as the dominant side in Spanish top-flight football. Los Blancos claimed their 34th La Liga title but James Rodgriguez had a little part to play in their triumph.

Rodriguez has sparingly been used by Zinedine Zidane and it has irked his friends in Catalonia.

Arturo Vidal reflected that he enjoys a great repertoire with the Real Madrid midfielder thanks to their time with Bayern Munich.

The combative Chilean midfielder also voiced his frustrations with Rodriguez’s treatment in the Spanish capital.

“James and I are brothers, we forged an incredible friendship in Munich,” Marca quoted Vidal.

“We talk all the time, on holiday we did and it’s annoying that he has problems with the coach.”

“James has a high level to play as a starter for that team and I don’t know why they didn’t give him a chance this year.”

Since arriving in 2014, Rodriguez has seen his stock decline in Madrid. But Vidal believes there is more to come from his friend.

In an upbeat message to James, Vidal stated that he should make the decision that allows him to entertain fans again.

“I hope he takes the best decision and begins to play,” he added.

“I think people, football admirers, love to see quality players and James is one of them.”

“He has to grow, search for his future and find a place to play and enjoy football.”

Barcelona and Real Madrid are still involved in the Champions League. Both have tough fixtures awaiting them as the elite European club competition resumes in August.

The Catalans take on Napoli at Camp Nou, while Real Madrid has to negotiate Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
