Jesse Lingard finally got on the score sheet for Manchester United in a domestic competition, 366 days since his last goal.
The midfielder has contributed little or nothing over the past twelve months in terms of goals and assists.
He did score a goal against lowly Astana in the Europa League. However, other than that nothing.
You actually have to go back over a year, to be exact 366 days, or a year and one day. That was the last time that Lingard scored ina domestic competition for United.
It was in fact in the very same corresponding match in last seasons’ calendar that he did it.
Just like today’s game, it was the fourth round of the FA Cup. This time it was Tranmere Rovers, last time it was Arsenal.
According to an interview reported by Goal, Lingard was happy to get back onthe score sheet and helphis team today.
“I’ve not been in the best form.”
“It’s always good to score a goal and help the team.”
