The 27th minute saw Lenglet flicks on Messi’s corner into the back of the net to double Barcelona’s lead.
The second half was more of the same, but this time Messi got a goal for himself. The argentine went on a mesmerizing run with the ball. Bobbing and weaving through the Leganes defense.
His final shot did take a rather fortuitous deflection but it put his side up by three.
Barca’s fourth came via a Messi who’s one on one with the keeper was blocked. The Argentine’s blocked shot fell to Arthur who made no mistake.
The fifth and final goal of the night saw Messi bag his second. A decisive through ball from Rakitic split the Leganes defense and Messi did the rest in style.
