Today Clarence Seedorf turns 44, let’s pay tribute to the Dutch footballing legend on his special day.
Seedorf started his career at Ajax under Louis Van Gaal, he was part of that amazingly young Ajax team that took Europe by storm.
It wasn’t long until clubs from the big five leagues were watching his progress.
This resulted in a move to Sampdoria and Serie A. But that move was just a short steppingstone to bigger and better things.
After only one season with Samp, Real Madrid came calling.
The Netherlands’ international had three and a half trophy-laden years at the Santiago Bernabeu. Which included a Champions League before he moved back to Serie A.
His first stop was Inter, but after two years he did the unthinkable and moved to city rivals AC Milan.
It was here that he discovered his best form. Wining six trophies over a ten-year spell. Adding a further two Champions Leagues to his haul.
Seedorf remains the only player to have won the Champions League with three different clubs.
It was a career that spanned 22 years, 867 club games, 87 national team games, 139 goals, and 110 assists.
