La Liga has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo by releasing a video of the GOAT’s best goals for Real Madrid in the 2016/17 campaign.

Incredible is one of many ways to describe just how phenomenal Ronaldo was back then. He tore defenses to shreds once more, winning a second consecutive Champions League title for Real Madrid and ending Barcelona’s dominance in LaLiga at the same time.

The GOAT then capped off his season in style by delivering a match-winning performance in the Champions League final itself against Juventus.

It was a trademark CR7 display that saw him punish the Juve defense without mercy the second they dropped their guard. Two goals in Cardiff took his haul back then to an impressive 42 goals in all competitions. He also added 12 assists to take his goal contribution to 54 goals in 46 games.

Best FIFA Men’s Player, UEFA Best Player of the Year, Portuguese Player of the Year, and a record-equaling fifth Ballon d’Or all came his way in 2017.

The Portuguese ace also smashed the following records that season in:

  • Most headed Champions League goals in history.
  • More Champions League goals and hat-tricks in the knockout stages.
  • All-time leading goalscorer in the six biggest European leagues at 367 goals.
  • The first footballer to score 100 goals in club European competition.

Now to commemorate Ronaldo’s spectacular campaign, LaLiga released a video showcasing all the star’s best goals in the Spanish league.

Not only did those goals reaffirm Cristiano’s status as the best player of that season, but they played a critical part in winning Real Madrid a 33rd league title.
