Roberto Firmino scored an 84th-minute winner as Liverpool go 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League and still with a game in hand.
Liverpool’s domination of the Premier League continued as they registered yet another win. It is their 22nd victory from 23 games so far this season in the league.
The away trip to Wolves on Thursday night was another opportunity to stretch their lead over the chasing pack even further.
An early goal from Jordan Henderson in the eighth minute was the perfect side for the Champions elect.
Henderson rose highest and powered a header into the back of the net as he met Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner.
Wolves have been the bane of many a top side and they were not going to role over for Liverpool either.
The 51st minute saw Raul Jiminez get the WestMidlands side on level terms.
A great run from Traore to latch onto a through ball, who drew Virgil Van Dijk out of position. He whipped in a great cross, Jiminez was unmarked in the middle and headed the equalizer home.
It looked like Nuno Espirito Santo’s side was going to be only the second side this season to take any points off of Liverpool.
But in the 84th minute up popped the Brazilian to work his magic and keep the winning run going.
Salah jinked and turned on the edge of the box but couldn’t find any room. The ball squirmed out of his feet only arrive at Henderson’s.
Henderson tapped the ball to Firmino who took a couple of touches to create half a yard of space in the box and fired home the winner.
