Juan Mata’s goal was enough for Manchester United to get the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the third round FA Cup replay.
The replay at Old Trafford appeared to be heading in a similar direction until Juan Mata found the back of the net if the 67th minute.
Wolves thought they had the lead in the first half. But VAR stepped in and ruled the goal out for handball in the build-up.
United dominated the game and had a few opportunities. But for some handy work from Wolves keeper Ruddy the scoreline could have been very different.
It was a beautiful bit of skill Mata that made the difference in the end.
A neat through ball from Anthony Martial set Mata free. An unusual turn of speed from the Spaniard saw him go one on one with the keeper.
A beautiful dink over an advancing Ruddy and United had a lead they never looked like relinquishing.
On a negative note for United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did bring on Marcus Rashford, who was subsequently re substituted after only 16 minutes due to an apparent back injury.
