In a recent video published by both, Cristiano Ronaldo had the chance to face off and grapple one of the UFC’s biggest legends last weekend.
To those who don’t know, Cristiano Ronaldo is an avid UFC fan and a good friend of that sport’s biggest stars. He’s been spotted training with the likes of Conor McGregor in the past but last weekend was truly a treat. We’ve seen the video in which Sir Alex Ferguson is talking to Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is considered one of the all-time greats. That’s because the Russian legend visited Old Trafford last weekend when Manchester United played against Everton.
After the game, the Portuguese star had a meeting with Khabib. Both athletes are good friends and they remain in close contact. However, we never had any images like the ones both of them shared on their social media platforms. Nurmagomedov is seen facing off against Cristiano right before hugging the Manchester United star. Despite being considered one of the deadliest athletes in mixed martial arts, Khabib is also known for his humility. He often tries to offer good advice to fans and supports various charity initiatives. The same goes for Ronaldo, who is known for his extensive charity work around the world.
Ronaldo tries to grapple Khabib.
But the most surprising aspect of this meeting was the pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo attempting to grapple Khabib. To those who don’t know, the Russian legend is considered the best grappler in MMA history. This is how he famously defeated some of his toughest opponents in the past, including Conor McGregor. In the images, you can clearly see Cristiano Ronaldo going for Khabib’s legs but failing on his first attempt.
On his visit to Old Trafford, Khabib also took pictures with Manchester United alumni such as Rio Ferdinand, Marcus Rashford, Dwight Yorke, and Paul Pogba. Everybody at the club admires the UFC legend, but he keeps the closest relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo above the rest. When the Portuguese star was in the middle of negotiations with the club, Khabib offered his insight from the perspective of a close friend. In the end, what Nurmagomedov predicted is exactly what came to pass.
