Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring with a brilliant goal for Juventus in their 5-0 friendly thrashing of Serie C side Novara.

Cristiano Ronaldo got his name on the score-sheet for Juventus in their latest outing.

The Bianconeri made light work of Serie C side Novara in early friendly game on Sunday morning. There were to be no shocks of any kind as Juve strolled to a 5-0 win against their opponents.

Andrea Pirlo used different sides in both sides but the first half saw something close to a strong Juve XI.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Aaron Ramsey, Douglas Costa, Bonucci, Rabiot and Chiellini were all in the starting lineup. New-boy Weston McKennie also get his first run-out for the club.

CR7 missed a chance to open the scoring early on in the game. Few minutes later, he made up for that and grabbed his goal.

A brilliant team move that involved 11 passes in the build-up ended with Ronaldo smashing one into the left corner.

The next goal had to wait until the second half. Douglas Costa flicked a good ball into the box and Aaron Ramsey was spot on to grab Juve’s second in the 55th minute.

Pjaca grabbed the third for Juventus ten minutes later before substitute Portanova completed a quick brace in two minutes of stoppage time.

Ronaldo showed good fitness in the game and Andrea Pirlo would be encouraged his side didn’t show any signs of rust in the match.

CR7 and company will start their 2020-21 Serie A title defence on September 20. First on the fixture list is a home game against Genoa-based side Sampdoria.
