The national anthems took center-stage at the empty Estadio da Luz on Saturday and Ronaldo made sure to add his own spin to it.
If there is one upside to a behind-closed doors match at a 65,647-capacity venue like the Estadio da Luiz, it’s that the players can be heard properly.
So fans watching the Portugal and France game over the weekend got a rare treat as the television cameras moved from head coach Fernando Santos to Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates having a crack at belting out the national anthem.
And Ronaldo, for one, didn’t hold back and even added his own touch to it by singing ‘tan tan tan’ which drew a few laughs, especially from Bernardo Silva.
Even the man himself couldn’t resist a little grin.

The video of Ronaldo and his ‘musical talents’ has since gone viral on social media.
It’s not the first time Cristiano has made headlines during an anthem either, having shown off his own rendition of the Champions League theme ahead of a match against Tottenham in 2017.
‘THE CHAMPIONS!’ he belted out in the video below.
