Luke Shaw and Odion Ighalo lead Manchester United to a 3-0 victory over Derby County in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Manchester United put on a masterclass as they comfortably beat Derby County to move on to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Both sides had some great chances early on, with Sergio Romero in the United goal making a crucial save.
However, as the game progressed, the visiting Premier League side started to demonstrate their superiority.
But for a fine save from Roos in the Derby goal Ighalo could have opened the scoring earlier.
It was United left-back Luke Shaw who got the ball rolling in the 33rd minute.
The England defender drove the ball into the ground and it bounced over a hapless flapping keeper to make it 0-1 to United.
Before the half time break, the Red Devils continued to press forward, and doubled their lead in the 41st minute.
The loan signing from the Chinese Super League bullied his way through a couple of Derby defenders and smashed the ball home.
The second half saw a Derby side inspired by former United legend Wayne Rooney try and get back into the game. Again it was Argentine shot-stopper Romero kept the Rams and Rooney at bay.
Then in the 70th minute, the Premier League side put the game out of Derby’s reach.
It took him two attempts, but Ighalo got his second and United’s third.
The Rams created a couple more chances, but United hung on. They will now face Norwich in the quarter-finals.
