Christian Vieri believes the pairing of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez is among the best attacking partnerships in the world.
Romelu Lukaku has managed to spring back to life ever since joining Inter Milan after some forgettable years at Manchester United.
The Belgian has scored 21 goals from 31 games in all competitions this season. With 17 goals, he is also third in the Serie A golden boot race, only behind Juve’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Lazio’s Ciro Immobile.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is another one of Inter players who is enjoying a red hot form. In 28 games, the striker has scored 16 goals in all competitions.
And former Inter Milan striker Christian Vieri believes only Kylian Mbappe and Neymar come close in quality to the Inter duo.
“Lukaku is a pure center-forward, devastating, physically strong, with a surprisingly delicate left foot,” Vieri said to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He works hard, holds up the ball, helps his team-mates. The pairing of Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez guarantees Inter both a present and future as a top club.
“They’re among the best three-four partnerships in the world. So, considering their age and prospects, only PSG can compete with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar or Mauro Icardi.”
