Aston Villa has pulled off an upset by beating Leicester City to make it to the final of the Carabao Cup.

The game between Aston Villa and Leicester City was evenly poised after the first game at the King Power Stadium ended 1-1.

With the clubs at opposite ends of the Premier League table, the Foxes were the firm favorites.

However, someone apparently forgot to tell Villa that they were not supposed to win.

The West Midlands side took an early lead with a goal from Matt Targett.

The hosts held the lead for the majority of the game. Until in the 72nd minute, up popped Iheanacho to prod a Barnes cross into the net.

Brendan Rodger’s sides appeared to have swung the pendulum of momentum in their favor. As Villa’s keeper Orjan Nyland pulled off save after save to keep his side in the game.

The game was entering stoppage time, and the resolution of the match was heading towards penalties.

That was until substitute Ahmed Elmohamedy crosses the ball to the far post. Inch-perfect for Trezeguet to smash the ball across the Leicester goal and into the back of the net.

The Villa fans have a new hero.

Villa Park went wild, with the fans singing and dancing “we’re going to Wembley!”

The final whistle blew and there was nothing holding back the home crowd, as they invaded the pitch to celebrate a momentous occasion.

One of the sleeping giants of English football was back in a cup final.

They will face the winner of Manchester City and Manchester United. The Manchester rivals play tomorrow, with City holding a 3-1 advantage.
