According to Olympique Marseille’s boss Andre Villas-Boas, the team played very well against Napoli on Sunday and it’s ready to start the 2019-2020 season.
Olympique Marseille was defeated 1-0 by Napoli on Sunday’s friendly match.
But the French Ligue 1 club played really well, and boss Andre Villas-Boas has praised his players’ qualities on the field.
“We started well by creating opportunities,” said the Portuguese to the Ligue 1 official website.
“We should have scored a goal. We suffered in the face of Italian experience and nous.”
“Napoli played a very Italian game. After their goal, it was more difficult to find the depth and disrupt what is a very well organized team,” he added.
“We tested Dimitri Payet in this center-forward position, it had worked in the United States [in the EA Ligue 1 Games]. This is a possibility for the rest of the season.”
The OM boss added: “I am satisfied with the intensity of the game and the qualities shown by the youngsters, especially Chabrolle.”
“I congratulated the players, even if we would have preferred to get the win.”
“We have seen a very good development of our young players, because they are listening and because they are working,” he concluded.
