As we get ready for his testimonial, Vincent Kompany couldn’t resist taking a shot at Gary Neville who will be playing for the All-Stars team.
Vincent Kompany will finally be playing a testimonial match on Wednesday that would see Manchester City take on a Premier League all-star team.
This will be be the first time the legendary defender will be playing in an English stadium since making a move away from City to Anderlecht as a player manager.
The proceeds from the spectacle will go to fund Tackle4MCR charity that aims to help homeless people.
A number of Premier League legends will be playing the game including Gary Neville who will be joined by his younger brother Phil, former Manchester United teammates Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Rafael van der Vaart will also be gracing the occasion.
Kompany will be joined in by a number of players who are still active at the top level including Samir Nasri, Mario Balotelli and Joe Hart.
While speaking to The Mirror, Kompany joked that had Leroy Sane would have been fit, he would have put him in front of Gary Neville.
“My goal was to put the fastest winger I could find on Gary Neville’s side! Unless he goes and hides at centre-back, we’ll see.”
