Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has not won a single Italian Lega Serie A game after returning to the team but he insists his team can do something special against Juventus.
Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella has yet to win a single Italian Lega Serie A match since he returned to the team.
And he doesn’t feel like a failure, explaining he’s sure his club can fight against Juventus.
“I won the Rossoneri’s last trophy, while at Sevilla I was sacked after a historic result, qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League and reaching the Copa del Rey Final,” he told Football Italia.
“Does that seem disastrous to you?”
He added: “Few teams have beaten Juve lately, but I’ll also try because great stories are born from impossible challenges.”
“I’d like to open a great chapter in Fiorentina’s history by doing something special against Sarri’s team.”
“It’s hard to live under the magnifying glass, but he must ignore the opinions of others and continue to improve,” he commented.
“Franck Ribery played the friendly with Perugia as if he was playing in the Champions League Final.”
“We’re talking about a star who excelled through sacrifice. He’s a formidable example for everyone to follow,” he said.
“The club hasn’t set objectives that need to be met at all costs, but I want to build a team who make our fans say: ‘It’s worth going to the stadium to watch Fiorentina’.”
