Real Madrid youngster Vinicius Jnr has revealed why he chose to sign for Los Blancos over rivals Barcelona.
Vinicius Jnr is without a doubt one of the top rated youngsters in the world.
The 19-year-old has made a name over the years boasting dribbling skills and ball control with only that precise final touch looking to be lacking.
Vinicius did have a precise touch in the recent El Clasico and scored the first of which gave Los Blancos the win over rivals Barcelona.
Not surprisingly, a host of clubs battled for his signature before his €46 million move to the Bernabeu and the youngster has revealed it came down to two clubs in the end.
The youngster only really considered Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, revealing he opted to go for the ‘greatest’ club in the world.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Vinicius said: “It was right after I came back from the 2017 South American U17 Championship in Chile. There were already rumours in the press, but I never believed them.”
“Eventually it happened: both Real Madrid and Barcelona put offers on the table and I had only three days to make my decision. I always wanted to play for the greatest club, so that’s why I chose Real.”
Vinicius was also impressed with the European success Los Blancos have enjoyed recently, which includes four Champions League triumphs in five seasons between 2014 and 2018.
Despite not reaching his full potential at the club yet, Vinicius is highly rated at Madrid and could well be an integral player in the coming years.
The youngster has scored two goals, supplying one assist in 19 league matches so far this season.
