Vinicius Junior has taken Cristiano Ronaldo’s role in Madrid

It took him less than half a season to confirm it, but Vinicius Junior has already taken Cristiano Ronaldo’s role in Real Madrid with a different twist.

He may not score as many goals as Cristiano Ronaldo did since he first arrived in Real Madrid, but there is no question that Vinicius Junior is starting to fill the void that the Portuguese player left after going to Juventus last summer.

During the very first months at Real Madrid Castilla, manager Julen Lopetegui really missed out on arguably one of the biggest talents that Los Blancos have signed in the last five years.

But Santiago Solari was the one who benefited from this transfer the most, he saw first-hand what the youngster could do and he is the one who has revived the club almost completely after a disastrous start of the season.

It is obvious that we are not comparing Vinicius with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian still needs to work a ton in order to reach that same level of performance.

All we are saying is that the Flamengo product has brought back that freshness from the left wing that the Portuguese player had during his first years with the club, Vinicius is the answer to what the Real Madrid supporters were looking for and he already is the biggest revelation this season in La Liga.

Benzema’s massive contribution to Vinicius’ growth

One of the biggest benefits that Real Madrid has gotten with Vinicius’ inclusion in the squad, is the understanding he has with striker Karim Benzema, who already nick-named him ‘The Talent’ for obvious reasons.

The Frenchman is completely thrilled to play alongside the Brazilian and he keeps proving it with their unique connection on the pitch, one that keeps reminding the fans of that similar connection he had with Cristiano Ronaldo when both of them were in their prime.

Karim spoke to the press after scoring one of the two goals against Ajax, he analyzed the victory and spoke about his relationship with Vinicius.

“I believe we played very well through a certain part of the match,” said Karim via Diario AS.

“We know Ajax has very young players, who pressure you a lot and can become very aggressive. This result was very good and that’s what’s important for us.”

“I love playing with Vinicius because there is no age to play football, he is a player who listens very well and loved working hard.”

“He has to continue like this because he is a very good player,” added Benzema about the Brazilian.”

After this latest display from Vinicius, it is evident that this is the player who needs to start in every single match for Real Madrid for the rest of the season regardless of the rival they face.

As long as he stays in good shape, manager Santiago Solari should play with Vinicius, Benzema, and nine more players on the pitch in every match.

This debut the Brazilian is having for Los Blancos on his first season, can already be compared to the debut that Kylian Mbappé had with AS Monaco a few years ago due to the impact the player is having at his new club and amongst his teammates.

When the season started for Real Madrid without Vinicius Junior, the sensation was that they weren’t capable of winning a fourth consecutive Champions League trophy this season after Zidane left.

However, things have changed drastically because of everything that Vinicius Junior has been doing in the last couple of months.

There is no other squad in the world that has a player as decisive as Vinicius, perhaps only Paris Saint-Germain with Kylian Mbappé or Barcelona if Messi is fit to play.
