Vinicius Junior: “Real Madrid will keep working to improve”

Vinicius Junior believes Real Madrid were not clinical in front of goal in their shocking 3-0 Champions League home defeat to CSKA Moscow

The 18-year-old winger was handed his first ever start in the Champions League on Wednesday night as manager Santiago Solari fielded a weakened team with Real already confirmed as Group G winners.

But Vinicius was unable to help prevent Los Blancos from suffering a crushing defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu with CSKA emerging 3-0 victors through goals from Fedor Chalov, Georgy Schennikov and Arnor Sigurdsson.

Although the Brazilian youngster won’t be reflecting on it for long with 19th-place side Rayo Vallecano awaiting them on Saturday in La Liga.

“We tried hard today but we just couldn’t get the goal,” said Vinicius on the club website.
