With a stellar performance by Vinicius Junior during the second half at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid was able to beat Leganes 3-0.

Real Madrid needed a victory like the one they got this Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, they were coming from a very worrying week in which they weren’t able to win for two consecutive matches and Leganes was the perfect victim to get back on their groove.

Manager Santiago Solari is suffering from several injury problems with key players like Toni Kroos or Gareth Bale out of action for the next few weeks, the Argentine manager decided to give some minutes to players from the academy such as Sergio Reguilon or Federico Valverde.

But there is no question that the greatest news of the evening was Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian 18-year old who is starting to show why Florentino Perez paid €45 million to Flamengo for his transfer last year.

The winger already proved that he can be reliable with his skill set against Real Sociedad last weekend, but he wasn’t able to score a goal in Los Blancos’ defeat and he wanted to change that during this match.

Solari made the right choice, he gave the Brazilian his second consecutive start of the match and the kid didn’t disappoint.

It appears we have another precocious teenager in our hands.

After a complicated first half in which Sergio Ramos scored the only goal before the break through the penalty spot, the second half came bearing gifts from Vinicius himself.

The youngster first set Lucas Vazquez up for Real Madrid’s second goal, but the best was reserved for last right before he was taken off the pitch.

Alvaro Odriozola combined forces with Isco from the right flank as the Brazilian was waiting for them to send the cross and when Alvaro finally did, Vinicius was able to strike the ball with a beautiful volley that gave Los Blancos the final 3-0 result at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This performance by the Brazilian can pretty much secure him a permanent spot in the starting eleven for manager Santiago Solari in the upcoming matches, all competitions will most likely feature this young talent from this moment forward.

We hadn’t seen a player with such a spark since Kylian Mbappé appeared in the world of football three years ago, Vinicius has the type of talent that can take him very far in his career as long as he remains consistent.

Even if Solari wants to still keep the excitement low key with Vinny, there is no doubt that Los Blancos have found their star for the rest of the season.

Solari is buzzing with Vinicius’ performance vs Leganes

After the match, Santiago Solari was immediately questioned about Vinicius’ Junior’s performance, the manager wanted to remain calm despite the great performance but the air clearly spoke about the excitement from everybody after the kid’s performance.

“I see him and I have already shared many things with him since he arrived,” said Solari via Diario AS.

“He is very young and very talented. He is still 18 years old and he did just get here from Brazil.”

“This is why it is as important to shine in La Liga as it is to maintain yourself. He is taking huge steps forward.”

“The talent was always there, the trick lies in developing that talent and does it at the Bernabeu alongside so many great players with consistency… that speaks volumes about his insolence and boldness.”

“It also speaks volumes about the joy he brings to the squad. But I insist, he is still 18 years old.”

“Football is all about exploding and maintaining yourself there, that is the most important thing for him right now.”

“We are all very happy with Vinicius and his current level of performance. He comes after the defenders to get them on a one vs one, he is daring.”

“Being bold in modern football is very important. He also has the ability to score goals. All these things are very difficult to spot in modern football.”

“We really hope he can keep growing his level, he must never forget about that,” he concluded.
