Romelu Lukaku made his mark at Everton by scoring 68 goals in 141 appearances, making him the perfect player for the Toffees.
However, after Mourinho came calling, Lukaku couldn’t resist.
The Belgian moved to Chelsea to join forces with Paul Pogba in 2017. Mourinho was supposed to lead the team to glory.
However, Steve Walsh saw the danger creeping in on United.
“When Jose signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton, I remember saying to him, ‘You have to be careful with him. He is a big baby, you know.’
“He said he could handle him. I don’t think he really got Lukaku on-side mentally, which you have to do,” Walsh told The Athletic.
The Belgian is now getting back on track with Inter and Antonio Conte, as Nerazzurri are in a serious title challenge.
