Wanda Nara, the wife, and agent of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi revealed “there will be no problem in signing a new contract.
Icardi has been a subject of transfer speculation from top clubs with likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea interested in his services.
However, Earlier this month, Wanda sparked controversy by declaring that there was “a big distance” between the club’s offer and the captain’s demands.
Reports further claimed she had been contacted by Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, to ask after his availability.
In an interview cited by Football Italia this evening, the striker’s agent changed her tune completely.
“We’ll renew, there will be a new contract, don’t worry,” she said on camera.
“There is no distance, there are no problems. Of course,
“Inter want to keep Icardi.”
He still has a release clause worth €110m that can be activated only from June 1-15, but that is likely to be changed or even removed in the new deal.
