Wanda Nara has disclosed that Mauro Icardi is always excited to lace his boots for Inter Milan despite losing the captain’s armband and penalty duties.

Icardi spent two months in the wilderness after the club stripped him of their captaincy, which coincided with the striker nursing an alleged knee injury.

However, he has been involved in the Nerazzurri’s chase for a Champions League ticket including their 3-1 win against Frosinone.

Surprisingly, the Argentine was stripped of the spot-kick duties after he left a penalty for Ivan Perisic during Sunday’s win.

Luciano Spalletti accepts Inter’s 1-1 draw with Roma was ‘fair’

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti accepted their 1-1 draw against top-four rivals AS Roma was a "fair result" considering how things turned out.

“They were able to take the armband and penalties away from him, but not his happiness of playing for Inter,” Wanda told Football Italia via Tiki Taka.

“Icardi was the first to give Perisic a high five. He probably asked to take it and Mauro said ‘yes’.

“It doesn’t necessarily mean that they must be friends.”
