Wanda Nara insists Mauro Icardi wants to stay at Inter Milan and went on to dismiss rumours he is faking his knee problem.
Icardi is yet to feature for Inter since being stripped of their captaincy on February 13 and recently missed out in their Europa League game and the 2-0 win against SPAL at San Siro on Sunday.
Nonetheless, Wanda, the wife and agent of the Argentine striker has stood by her husband explaining she was working to ‘make him feel good and make peace with the club.
“Mauro wants to stay at Inter,” she revealed in a quote that was cited on Football Italia.
“I’m working to make him feel good and make peace with the club. We also chose a lawyer who’s an Inter fan!
“The knee problem isn’t an invention. He’s taking care of himself 24 hours a day.
“Health is his priority right now because maybe he doesn’t feel important for the team.
Wanda spoke about his absence in recent games and equally talked about her meeting with Marotta.
“Absent at San Siro against SPAL? We stayed at home with our family watching the game.
“It wasn’t because we were afraid of whistling. It was also something we agreed with the club.

“I talk to Marotta more than I do to Mauro right now to avoid any misunderstandings at a time like this.
“I can only say that it was a positive meeting like it always is when we face each other to discuss serious matters.
“Mauro wants to continue his career at Inter. We hope everything will be resolved as soon as possible.”
