The United States women’s national team won its fourth FIFA World Cup after defeating the Netherlands 2-0 in Lyon.
Thanks to goals by Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle, the United States national team has claimed its fourth FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy.
The U.S. defeated the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday, in a game played at Groupama Stadium in Lyon.
And Rapinoe has revealed the secret of their success.
“It’s unbelievable. Just to know all the people in our group put in so much work,” she told The Daily Star.
“It’s so surreal. I don’t know how to feel right now. It’s ridiculous.”
“[She] is just missing that little bit all tournament. She’s been on the dribbles, opening everything up for us,” she said about teammate Lavelle.
“For her to get that reward tonight, on the biggest stage of them all, I’m so proud of her.”
“She’s not even a star in the making, she’s a superstar at this point,” Rapinoe continued.
“We’re crazy, that’s what makes us special!”
“I don’t know, we just have no quit in us, we’re so tight and we’ll do anything to win,” she concluded.
