AS Roma have reached the quarter-final stage of the Champions League for the first time in the last 10 years. However, it will certainly be difficult for them to proceed further as they will have to face Barcelona next month.

The Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons shared his thoughts prior to their clash with the Catalans and claimed that they have a chance as they successfully went through the first round and considering the fact that their group was dubbed as the ‘group of death’, they might have gathered some confidence.

“We finished first. That gave us confidence and allowed us to eliminate Shakhtar Donetsk,” Gonalons shared, according to Football Italia.

“Barcelona? They’re a great team, I think they’ve had the best player in the world for several years [Lionel Messi]. It’s always hard when you face such good players.”

“We have a chance though and we’ll give our best. In football you never know what can happen.”
