But for City’s wastefulness in front of goal, Gabriel Jesus believes assist king Kevin De Bruyne could have easily recorded 30 assists in the Premier League.
Gabriel Jesus admits City wasted a lot of chances this season and De Bruyne could have ended up with way more assists.
The Belgian playmaker enjoyed a stellar campaign at the Etihad where he finished with double digits goals and assists from midfield.
De Bruyne received much praise especially for his assist tally of 20 which saw him equal Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Teammate Gabriel Jesus shares those thoughts but directs his own reason at the club’s wasteful habit in front of goal this season.
“I think every game he can make three or four assists for us,” he said via the Man City website ahead of his side’s Champions League game with Real Madrid.
“This season we miss a lot of goals, if not Kevin would have 30 assists. He is so good.”
With Sergio Aguero a doubt to feature on Friday against Real Madrid, much of the goal-scoring duties will fall on Gabriel Jesus and De Bruyne.
Based on the Belgian’s current form, you can back the 28-year-old to get a least a goal or an assist on the 7th of August.
