Georginio Wijnaldum has insisted that he is only focusing on his current season with Liverpool.

Georginio Wijnaldum believes it is too soon for him to talk about his future at Liverpool while refusing to either confirm his stay or rule out an exit from the club.

The Dutchman signed for the Reds in 2016 after a successful spell at Newcastle United. Wijnaldum, although significantly reducing the occurrence of his name on the scoresheet compared to his Newcastle days, has established himself as one of the best players in his position and in Jurgen Klopp’s resilient Liverpool side.

The 29-year old has entered the last year of his contract at Anfield. And while non-renewal could see him part ways at the end of the season, Wijnaldum is in no rush to commit his future to Liverpool.

“What would I like? It is difficult to say,” the Netherlands international told Sky Sports News

“It depends on what the club wants and how the situation is at that time. We will see. [Anfield], it’s like home. I’m just focusing on bringing this season to a good end and that’s the only thing I’m thinking of.”

“Will leaving Liverpool be hard? Yes, it’s like home.”
