Arsene Wenger tips Thierry Henry for Managerial success, according to Mirror Football.
The former Arsenal boss believes the former Arsenal striker will be a successful manager if he’s willing to do one thing.
Henry revealed on Monday that he was quitting his role as a pundit with Sky Sports to focus on fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a manager.
Wenger believes both he and former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira who has just taken over as OGC Nice boss can be successfully provided as they’re willing to give everything as managers.
“I’m often asked if Thierry and Patrick will become good managers and the answer is always, yes.” Wenger said.
“They’ve got all the qualities of a successful manager, they’re intelligent, they know the game very well, but are they willing to make the right sacrifices?”
“You wake up around 3am thinking about the team, formation, player selection, it’s an obsession that bounces in your head every day.”
“I look back with regret on the sacrifices I made because I hurt a lot of people, my family and the loved ones close to me,” Wenger said about the sacrifices he made as a manager.
Henry had a little taste of football management as he was assistant to Roberto Martinez for Belgium at the World Cup this summer.
