Arsene Wenger suggests that Kylian Mbappe is the leading contender to replace the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kylian Mbappe has had yet another standout season, Ligue 1 Champion with PSG, and Golden Boot winner in France. Once the Champions League resumes, he may even go on to achieve even more.

Mbappe is only 21-years-of age, and while he is still so young, he has already demonstrated he has the capability to become one of the very best.

He has already surpassed both Messi and Ronaldo with his World Cup winners medal.

However, on the whole, he still has a long way to go to reach their extremely high standards.

His compatriot and retired football manager Arsene Wenger holds both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to a higher level than football has ever seen. However, the former Arsenal boss believes Mbappe could well be the heir to their throne.

In an interview reported by Sport Bible, he said:

“Lionel Messi… we’ve never seen players like that who can absolutely be creative in any tight situation.”

“These players are now getting to an end — Ronaldo and Messi.”

“It’s now about the next generation and the next generation may be French.”

“At the moment, the leader could be Mbappe.”

Kylian Mbappe is already the best that France has to offer, outshining the likes of Neymar.
