Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has the quality to return to the club as manager one day, according to former manager Arsene Wenger.
Vieira enjoyed a successful nine-year spell at Arsenal under manager Wenger before going on to play for other sides and eventually hung his boots in 2011.
The Frenchman ventured into management, enjoying success at New York City before joining Nice last summer.
Considering Unai Emery is doing a decent job at the Emirates, Wenger has tipped Vieira to get the Arsenal job in the future.
“I see him as the Arsenal coach one day because I think he is too young to go directly into international football,” he said in a quote cited on DailyStar.
“I think his life will go through club football. He has constructed his career intelligently and patiently.
“He left when he was young, he went to New York, he is now in Nice and he has taken time to mature and learn his profession.
“And something you can’t give: he has a natural charisma, he is both elegant and authoritative.
“He has passed through a difficult time at Nice but he showed no signs of weakness.
“It is in times of crisis you see the coach.”
The Gunners were beaten 3-2 by Crystal Palace yesterday but they remain in the top four, only ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea on goal difference.
Unai Emery’s men return to action on Wednesday as they visit Wolves.
