Time to talk about the possible replacements for Jose Mourinho now that Manchester United has sacked him for good, who is better?

The inevitable finally happened after Manchester United lost 3-1 against Liverpool last weekend, manager Jose Mourinho was finally sacked after losing their match against the oldest direct rival in the competition and everybody is already talking about his possible substitutes.

The options are obviously very limited due to how early it is in the season, as not even the first half has come to an end.

Most of the media outlets are talking about two specific names but we are going to throw in a third one who is actually a free agent right now and a fairly good option for the Red Devils, we will tell you which three managers can replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United before the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino

The Tottenham Hotspur’s manager is actually the option that Manchester United’s board of directors likes the most to replace Jose Mourinho, according to Diario AS.

The problem here is that the man himself just denied that he would leave the London club to take that job, as the offers from Real Madrid are possible a much better destination for him to take on next after his English football adventure.

Nothing guarantees that Pochettino would win any trophies at Manchester United if he decided to leave Spurs, he obviously prefers to stay and just keep fighting to win a trophy with his already competitive squad.

However, if the Red Devils decided to keep the interim manager until the end of the season, Pochettino would consider the job if his current squad doesn’t make any moves to get any new blood next summer.

Zinedine Zidane

The French manager left Real Madrid at the end of last season after a three-year magical spell with the Spanish giants, he is another excellent candidate and someone who even Sir Alex Ferguson likes for the job.

The problem with signing the Frenchman is his promise to not take on any new clubs this season, one that he made during the press conference where he announced that he was leaving Los Blancos.

This hasn’t prevented ‘Zizou’ from becoming the top contender to take Mourinho’s job, and also take some well-deserved vacations with his wife in order to take the proper rest he deserves after winning so much with Real Madrid.

The only way in which they could convince Zidane to become Manchester United’s new manager is if he decides to take the challenge, but nothing is written in stone yet.

Antonio Conte

This could be the easiest of the three names that are currently being considered to take on the job, the Italian manager is a free agent as well since last season and he is itching to get back on the sidelines after his Chelsea fiasco.

The problem here is that the Manchester United board of directors are not so keen to have another ultra defensive manager like Jose Mourinho, Conte might even be worse than the Portuguese manager in that regard.

The club’s players are not after a disciplinary at the moment, which doesn’t help Antonio Conte’s case. However, the man could be the one who keeps the job before the end of the season.

For now, Kieran McKenna is the manager who will take on the interim job while the club reaches a decision in the next couple of weeks.
