The Englishman will be a free agent at the end of the season if no fresh terms are agreed with his club.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere stated he was no closer to a deal with the club than he was a month ago. The 26-year-old has already entered the last few months of his current deal and will likely become a free agent at the end of the campaign.
Regardless of the idea of a new contract for Wilshere, nothing concrete has been offered, which has left Wilshere in uncertainty around his future.
“Things have changed since then.” Wilshere is quoted by Goal. “We’re no closer to sorting anything out.”
Meanwhile, the Englishman reflected on Arsenal’s positioning in the Premier League and insisted they cannot afford to stop fighting.
“We can’t just give up in the Premier League.
“We’ve got to keep fighting and get as many points as possible so that if anyone does slip up, which doesn’t look likely, we are ready to pounce. If we keep performing like this, we’ve got a chance.”
