Napoli have recently acquired a new fan, besides the new coach, in the face of Xabi Alonso, who confirmed he will be cheering on the Partenopei and Carlo Ancelotti and went as far as claiming he might even attend a game of theirs.
Ancelotti recently signed a three-year contract as he will be the successor of Maurizio Sarri. This will be his first official comeback in the Serie A ever since he left Milan back in 2009.
“Ancelotti is a maestro for me and I am very happy for him,” former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso told Football Italia.
“I played against his Milan when I was at Liverpool and had the opportunity to get to know him and appreciate the work of his staff.”
“I have many friends at Napoli, including Raul Albiol and Jose Callejon. It means next season I’ll be cheering on the Partenopei and might even come to Naples to attend a game.”
