The former Real Madrid footballer and current Palmeiras president believes he loved the small time he played with Los Merengues.
Brazilian footballer Ze Roberto played for Real Madrid in 1997, and although he only played half a season, he enjoyed his time with Los Merengues.
“I have a great affection for Real Madrid because it was the first European team that trusted my potential,” he told Marca.
“Unfortunately, things did not happen as we wanted and I wanted to play a lot to play in the 1998 World Cup, so my ticket ended up being short.”
He explained: “Despite not having made history with Real’s shirt, I keep very good memories of the club.”
“Today the rhythm is much more intense and physical than football before.”
He also spoke about Brazilian youngsters like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo: Vinicius started his career very well in European football.”
“He is a child of a personality, who likes to dare and I believe that, after some apprenticeships, he will become a reference player in the continent.”
“Rodrygo has everything to follow these steps. He also started very well at Santos and he seems to have a good head, like Vinicius,” the former player concluded.
