Ahead of the International Champions’ Cup next summer, Zinedine Zidane pressured Florentino Perez about the pending transfers.

The new season will start in mid-July, Zinedine Zidane is trying to get all his transfers completed before that happens and he just pushed Florentino in a passive-aggressive manner.

The French manager offered an interview ahead of the International Champions’ Cup this summer, a tournament where Los Blancos will face Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid during the final days of July.

The French gaffer is expecting to have a full squad by the time they have to play those preparation matches, but he still doesn’t know if it will happen.

The player he wants the most right now is Paul Pogba, a player who is currently struggling to convince Manchester United to let him leave.

The transfer window closes on July 8 in England, which doesn’t leave a lot of room to maneuver for Real Madrid.

To some people, Pogba is one of the options that Los Blancos have to fill the midfield position they need for the next season.

However, the French manager is determined to get his compatriot on the team as soon as possible.

Florentino Perez is doing everything he can to get that signing as soon as possible, but the president decided that he won’t pay more than €125 million for Paul.

We are getting to a point of pressure between manager and chairman, one that Zidane expects to win through public statements and private meetings.

The manager spoke to Marca ahead of Real Madrid’s trip to the United States, where they will play the International Champions’ Cup at the end of July.

He spoke about the state of the squad right now, and also about what he is expecting from the board of directors in regards to transfers.

Zidane sent a passive-aggressive message to Florentino as a way to pressure him to hurry up with Pogba’s transfer.

“It’s a new season, an important campaign in which we are very excited to compete and win again. We never have vacations really,” said ‘Zizou’.

“We are working hard in order to make this season as good as possible. It’s not just the fans who are excited about all the new arrivals, I’m very excited as well.”

“This is very interesting for us. Our plan is to buy players who can be ready to work with us from the very start of the season.”

“The important thing is that they will be with the team from day one. Some of them played with their national teams, but they will have almost a year of vacations to rest properly.”

“I have great respect for Diego Simeone, as I do with every other manager. He’s been doing a sensational job for a long time. He is a great manager of a fantastic club.”

Florentino is still trying to convince Zidane of bringing Eriksen.

Plan B will come in case Paul Pogba’s transfer doesn’t work, Florentino Perez wants Christian Eriksen to become that second option.

But the meetings the chairman had so far with Zidane haven’t been that encouraging, as the Frenchman believes Los Blancos won’t win trophies if they don’t bring all the players he wants.

‘Zizou’ considers Paul Pogba an essential part of that new wave of players who will help Real Madrid improve, but the president doesn’t seem to think so.

At the start of the summer transfer window, it was reported that Los Blancos had €500 million to spend on new talent and they have only spent €300 million so far.

This means that they have €200 million left to spare and they still haven’t even sold all the players they plan to get rid off during the pre-season.

Florentino has the money to offer more than €125 million for Paul Pogba, but he simply doesn’t want to spend too much money on a single player.

The club’s president remains firm on his new transfer policy, one that relies on Real Madrid not going crazy over players unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Perez doesn’t think Pogba is that important for the club, Zidane does and he is willing to fight for his arrival.
