The Madrid and Spain captain who has seen success with both club and country recently spoke of his desire to play in Tokyo (Olympics).
“It’s a very nice idea,” he said recently. “Nobody could say no. We’ll see what happens. I’m emotional every time I pull on a Spain shirt.”
Ramos will lead the Spanish side in the Euro 2020 and could also be one of the senior figures in the Spain squad in the Olympics.
Despite the fact that he could miss Los Blancos’ start of next season, Zidane has said he is in full support of whatever choice the 33-year-old makes.
“If he wants to, I’ll support him,” the Frenchman said via Evening Standard. “It’s very special to play for your country and especially a player like him, with all he has done.”
