Zidane backs Sergio Ramos to play for Spain at the Olympics

Ramos would be allowed to play in the Olympics and Zidane would fully support his decision if the Madrid captain wants that.

Sergio Ramos has the full backing from Zinedine Zidane and can represent Spain in the Olympics if he wants to.

The Madrid and Spain captain who has seen success with both club and country recently spoke of his desire to play in Tokyo (Olympics).

“It’s a very nice idea,” he said recently. “Nobody could say no. We’ll see what happens. I’m emotional every time I pull on a Spain shirt.”

Ramos will lead the Spanish side in the Euro 2020 and could also be one of the senior figures in the Spain squad in the Olympics.

Despite the fact that he could miss Los Blancos’ start of next season, Zidane has said he is in full support of whatever choice the 33-year-old makes.

“If he wants to, I’ll support him,” the Frenchman said via Evening Standard. “It’s very special to play for your country and especially a player like him, with all he has done.”

Ramos is arguably one of the most experienced defender’s in world football right and that experience would surely benefit Spain in any competition at all
