Zinedine Zidane suggests Real Madrid reacted too late to gain momentum which eventually resulted in costing them the win.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is disappointed after his side dropped two crucial points at home last night in the La Liga title race.
Fyodor Smolov stunned the Santiago Bernabeu after giving Celta the lead inside ten minutes of the match. After fighting back very hard, Los Blancos did manage to overturn the tie through Toni Kroos and Sergio Ramos. But it was shortlived as Santi Mina’s goal made sure his side snatch away a point.
Reflecting on the match events in the post-match interview, Zinedine Zidane praised Celta Vigo for their performance.
The former World Cup winner also expressed dissatisfaction with his side on being unable to get a home win.
“We’ve dropped two points at home against a good team who don’t deserve to be where they are in the table,” Zidane said as on Real Madrid’s official Twitter account.
“But at the end of the day, we’ve dropped two points at home. It’s not the best feeling, because the effort was there.
“We were better in the second half. We got more into the game and scored two goals. But the game lasts 90 minutes.”
