Former Real Madrid assistant Toni Grande believes Zinedine Zidane is back to wrap up an unfinished business at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos top executives made a swift move to bring back the French gaffer after a disastrous spell under the expertise of Julen Lopetegui and then Santiago Solari.

With the Spanish giants far below their rivals in the domestic scene, Grande believes Zidane is the right man to close the gap between them and Barcelona.

“Zidane has come back to do a job and he has to get it done,” Grande told Radio MARCA.

“The bad times need to be moved on from and Zidane won’t just be shaking hands.

“He’s going to put things right where he sees fit and he’ll have a lot to do.”

Grande equally understands the difficult nature of Zizou’s job, noting his reputation is at stake having won three Champions Leagues in two and a half years in his previous spell.

"I'm only focused on tomorrow's game against Cyprus.

“It’s always difficult,” Grande continued.

“But if both parties consider it an opportunity and there’s the Real Madrid spirit, as there is with Zidane, it’s a good opportunity.

“Asked about the risk, Grande wasn’t convinced of his legacy’s importance. I don’t think it’s important,” he said.

“He’s committed to the club and the city.”There can be issues, but Madrid and Zidane are close and that’s important.”
