Zinedine Zidane is not taking any credit, the Real Madrid boss acknowledges the impact of an in-form Isco at the club.
It’s not too often that a manager turns down credit for his side’s resurgence in form. But this isn’t any old manager, this is Zinedine Zidane.
The Real Madrid manager gave all the credit to his team and in particular midfield maestro Isco.
According to Goal, speaking to the press, he insists that it was all the Spaniard and he’s happy for him.
“I had no role in Isco’s recovery, I’m just glad about it,” Zidane told reporters post-match.
“He has personality and wants to play. He doesn’t shy away from responsibility.”
In what Zidane described as an inside attacking role, Isco and Modric flourished and Valencia paid a heavy price.
Isco has never been much more than a bit-part player at Madrid. The player will hope that after last night’s exhibition, he may get more opportunities.
