Zinedine Zidane has insisted that he is not interested in how his players spend time outside of football.
Gareth Bale’s fondness for golf is finally getting some attention. The Welshman has been accused of giving more attention and importance to his golfing than Real Madrid.
But Zidane suggested that he does not care about Bale’s habits. As reported by Marca, Zinedine Zidane revealed in his pre-match press conference that he considered Real Madrid players mature enough to decide what’s best for them.
“I’m going to give you my reply, the club might say something different,” Zidane replied when asked if he has problems with Bale’s golfing habit.
“As Real Madrid manager, I’m not going to stop my players doing anything in their free time.
“They’re mature enough and they need to know what they need to do.”
Zinedine Zidane also spoke about Real Madrid’s transfer plans in the upcoming transfer window. The Frenchman claimed that although he is happy with his current squad, a possibility of an addition cannot be dismissed.
“Anything can happen in football,” Zidane said.
“When it’s time, we’ll see.
“For now, I’m counting on my current players and I’m very happy with them,” the Real Madrid manager declared.
