Zinedine Zidane feels Real Madrid were pushed to their limits in the match against Getafe and is happy his team came out with positive results.

Real Madrid were far from their usual high standards when they played Getafe last night but managed to come out with a crucial 1-0 win at the end.

Sergio Ramos once again proved to be the difference-maker for his side. The referee pointed straight to the spot when Mathias Olivera’s trailing leg tipped Dani Carvajal inside the box. The Madrid skipper then cooly converted the resulting spot-kick, scoring his eleventh overall goal of this season.

Zinedine Zidane’s men stretched their lead to four points in the title race following their sixth successive La Liga victory.

Acknowledging that last night’s win was not exactly a cakewalk, Zidane praised his team for showing resilience and determination.

“There are three more points. They are three very important points,” the Frenchman said after the match [via Goal].

“We have to keep working. We are happy, proud of the team … the effort, the solidity that we show, is very good.

“This is football, football every three days is a new story. Without suffering you cannot achieve anything. We knew that we would suffer a lot. They pressed very high, it has cost us a little, but it is normal.”
