Hakim Ziyech says he is eagerly looking forward to playing for Chelsea under manager Frank Lampard.

Chelsea recently announced that they have completed negotiating personal terms with Hakim Ziyech who has agreed to pen down a five-year contract with the club.

The 26-year old midfielder has been enjoying an impressive run of form in the Eredivisie. With 6 goals and 12 assists from 19 games, he has been a key figure in the Ajax team as they look to win their second consecutive and 35th overall league title.

Ziyech, who was also influential in his side’s Champions League run last season, says he is eager to replicate his form at Chelsea.

Speaking to Ajax TV, the Moroccan also highlighted Frank Lampard’s role in helping him sign for the London side.

“Happy, proud, I am excited and I cannot wait,” he said as on the club’s official website.

“It [Chelsea] is a big club in a big competition. I like the style of play. They play really attacking football, and that is something that fits me and that is one of the biggest reasons I chose therefore.”

“A big role. We had a lot of contact in the last couple of weeks and he gave me a good feeling. That was also big to do with the decision.”
