The great Zlatan Ibrahimovic feel very sorry for not being able to produce more for Manchester United and playing for the club at a later stage of his career.
All the fans that got to watch and enjoy Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s career in Europe from start to finish, know very well how good the striker was in his better years, all but the Manchester United fans at least. When the Swedish striker player for clubs like Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, and even at PSG, his level was at the very top amongst the best strikers in the world. By the time the Red Devils attempted to sign Ibrahimovic, it was a little late in his career and he doesn’t feel like he delivered the Zlatan we all knew from his best form.

Then there was also that nasty knee injury he suffered on his first season playing with United, that prompted a very short-lived career with the English club and left the fans thirsty for more Zlatan goals after scoring 28 goals in his first 46 appearances. Now that the Red Devils are visiting Los Angeles for the summer tour, the LA Galaxy striker has already visited his former team and spoken to the club’s communication staff about the best moments he lived in the club. However, Zlatan does have some regrets.
“I feel sorry for the fans – if they’d seen me younger, they’d have seen a different lion. For the Premier League, it would have been dangerous, as I would have eaten them for breakfast; instead, I took them for lunch. But I came: they wanted me, I gave them me and I took over. Been there and done that. I would need more time to explain my feelings but let’s start with a big thanks to everybody – what they did was amazing and I hope they are as happy as I am.
“I gave as much as I could for as long as I could; when I got injured, I got support in a different way. They always stood behind me and my team-mates. “They are special: everywhere I see red, I think about United. It will remain in history and my career; when I look back at my time with United, I will do it with a smile. I wish them all the best in the future,” Zlatan told the Manchester United website.
